About Us

RRC is a very straightforward, uncomplicated, needs led organisation identifying and providing suitable freelance associates to assist Local Authorities, Charities and Voluntary organisations in fulfilling their statutory and other responsibilities in areas such as complaint procedures, reviewing children in secure accommodation or in providing independent managements support around service delivery, review/evaluation and development.

RRConsultancy is a consortium of like-minded experienced freelance associates from a range of health and social care backgrounds including associates from backgrounds other than health and social care working together for mutual benefit and to support the many public services that they have worked in and served throughout their careers. The majority of freelance associates have academic and professional qualifications relating to health and social care and most will possess higher level health and social care management qualifications. Their careers span many decades of practice, strategic management and social care service development. Other practitioners are from associated professions with academic and professional qualifications in their area of practice. Non health and social care professionals can be particularly useful to appoint in situations where there is a complete breakdown of trust between complainants and health and social care services.

All freelance associates have CRB checks undertaken and are able to provide professional and character references. Everyone possess the relevant public liability and professional indemnity insurance. The freelance associates at RRC are part of an ethnically diverse group with a good gender balance and age range which ensures the most appropriate and best matched individual is allocated to each referral.

Expertise amongst freelance associates covers many aspects of health and social care in service areas such safeguarding (adults and children), looked after children, disabilities, learning disabilities, adult and children’s support services, mental health, leaving care, fostering and adoption, community support and many others.

One of the main objectives of RRConsultancy is to provide individual organisations with a range of independent, transparent and credible services whether this is for formal complaint investigations, management investigations / management support or whether it is for improving service delivery, increasing productivity, reducing waste and improving efficiency.

Since 2003 RRC has primarily been involved in the Yorkshire and Humber region independently investigating complaints under statutory procedures. Many of these complaints have emanated from children/adults receiving social care or looked after children either in community care placements or from children and adults in residential or nursing care facilities. Central to complaint investigations is an evaluation and review of services provided which has allowed for freelance associates to report back with recommendations on service delivery and service improvement drawing from their own experience of service delivery and comparison of best practice with other similar organisations.

RRC focuses on quality assurance which it regards as an on-going and continual process both in terms of the service it provides and also those services provided by commissioning organisations. This results from monitoring service delivery, analysis of data, assessment and evaluation of outcomes, identifying parameters and scope for change, planning change, implementing change focused plans and review and return to monitoring. These are some methods employed by freelance associates in conjunction with their respective counterparts in the commissioning organisation to improve the experience and benefits for service users.

RRC has well documented policies and procedures covering the services provided including simple user friendly administration protocols and fully encrypted secure document / data storage facilities allowing online collaboration for Local Authorities and Independent people ensuring that confidential and sensitive data is stored securely and safely.

In all cases the coordinator at RRC will retain overall coordination and management responsibility for work referred and will jointly work with the commissioning organisation to  monitor and review progress addressing any difficulties as they arise which may require the provision of additional support, advice and/or guidance to the freelance associate undertaking the work.
